Friends Squared
Sharing a Message of Inclusion and God’s Love.
Story Synopsis
Friends Squared tells the uplifting story of friendship, perseverance, and victory. Myles, a boy with Down Syndrome, teaches valuable lessons to his best friend Paul, who sees him for who he truly is—a great friend. Together, they embark on a mission to introduce the game 9-Square into the Extraordinary Games. Along the way, they experience moments of joy, frustration, and triumph as they work as a team to achieve a goal that feels bigger than themselves. This heartwarming journey reminds us that true friendship can overcome obstacles and inspire those around us.
The Process
Creating Friends Squared was a hands-on learning experience driven by passion and creativity. From developing the script to filming and editing, every part of the process was handled by our small but dedicated team. With no budget, we borrowed equipment, sought advice, and learned new skills—from setting up lighting to piecing together final edits. The journey of making this film reflects the very heart of its message - working together, learning as we go, and believing that even the simplest ideas can lead to something extraordinary.

Friends Squared received special recognition at the Valorem Film Festival in Wilmington, NC (2017) and was nominated for Best Student Film at the International Christian Film Festival (2018).
